The AIUB Inter-College Football Championship 2026 began at the Sports Field of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) on Monday, 18 May 2026, bringing together 41 colleges from across Dhaka Division.

The tournament aims to showcase emerging football talent and promote inter-institutional unity, teamwork and sportsmanship among students.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prof Dr Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor of AIUB.

Prof Dr Manzur H Khan, Proctor of AIUB; Dr Ziarat H Khan, Deputy Director of Student Services and Welfare; Abu Mia Akanda Tuhin, Head of Public Relations; and Md Joynal Abedin, Coordinator of the Office of Sports, AIUB, were also present.

Students, faculty members and administrative officials also attended the opening ceremony.

Organised by the AIUB Office of Sports in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs, the championship will continue until 23 May 2026.

The week-long tournament is expected to provide students with a competitive platform to demonstrate their football skills while strengthening ties among participating institutions.
