BRAC backs young innovators with social enterprise fellowship
BRAC is supporting young innovators to turn their ideas and social enterprises into sustainable ventures through its Youth Platform, which has launched the “Amra Notun Young Social Entrepreneur Fellowship Programme”.
Under the fellowship, three selected initiatives have received seed funding of at least Tk 3 lakh each.
The Letter of Agreement was signed on Thursday (16 April) at the BRAC Centre in Mohakhali, Dhaka. BRAC Executive Director Asif Saleh handed over symbolic cheques to the fellows and offered guidance on their ventures. Shariful Hasan, associate director of BRAC’s Migration Programme and Youth Platform, was also present.
The fellowship features three winners of the “Amra Notun Young Changemakers Award 2025” Stories of Inclusion, Jolshikha and Guddu Toys.
Stories of Inclusion is producing audiobooks for children with disabilities, Jolshikha is making environmentally friendly charcoal from coconut shells, and Guddu Toys is developing educational toys for children. The initiatives aim to drive creativity, social impact and community development.
Fellows Musarrat Jahan Esha, Maria Jahan Riva and Hasibul Hasan presented their projects and outlined future plans at the event.
According to BRAC, the programme will serve as an integrated platform for young entrepreneurs, offering skills training, mentorship, networking opportunities and seed funding. Participants will also take part in industry visits to exchange ideas with established entrepreneurs.
BRAC’s Youth Platform said such initiatives will encourage young people to take on leadership roles in driving social change and contribute to building an inclusive and sustainable society.
