BRAC University and Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today (19 October) to jointly develop and deliver professional and executive education programmes for Bangladesh’s growing energy and infrastructure sectors.

The agreement, signed at BRAC University’s Merul Badda campus, combines the academic and research strengths of the university’s Centre for Energy and Logistics (CEL) with IDCOL’s expertise in infrastructure financing and sustainable investment, according to the press release.

The initial programmes are expected to focus on four areas:

  • Project finance
  • Financial modelling
  • Solar photovoltaic project design and implementation
  • Supply chain and logistics operations, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence and green logistics

The MoU also establishes a broader framework for collaboration in education, research, professional development, knowledge exchange and industry engagement.

As Bangladesh expands its infrastructure and accelerates its transition to clean energy, demand is growing for professionals capable of planning, financing and delivering complex projects.

The programmes aim to address this need through practical, industry-relevant training, reflecting BRAC University’s commitment to connecting academic learning with professional practice.

“As BRAC University completes 25 years, partnerships like this carry our mission beyond the campus,” said Ariful Islam, treasurer of BRAC University.

“By combining CEL’s research with IDCOL’s field experience, we can equip professionals with the skills Bangladesh needs for a sustainable, energy-secure future.”
