BUFT National Entrepreneurship Expo 2026 begins today
BUFT National Entrepreneurship Expo 2026 (3.0) opened today (7 October) at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT), bringing together students, academics, entrepreneurs and industry leaders to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and AI-driven business solutions.
Organised by the BUFT Business Club in association with the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), the two-day expo is being held on 7–8 October under the theme “Empowering the Next Generation with AI: Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Sustainable Digital Transformation”, according to the press release.
The expo aims to equip students with entrepreneurial skills and encourage them to use artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to develop innovative and sustainable ventures.
Guests included Md Mesbha Uddin Ali, chairman of BUFT’s Board of Trustees; Professor Dr Engr Ayub Nabi Khan, vice-chancellor of BUFT; and Professor Dr Mohamed Kaisarul Haq, member of the Board of Governors of Spectrum International University College, Malaysia, and director of PRAN-RFL Group.
Also present were Professor Dr Md Alamgir Hossain, acting pro-vice-chancellor and treasurer of BUFT; Md Rafiquzzaman, registrar; Professor Dr Sheikh Abdur Rahim, dean of FBS; and Mohammad Imtiaj, director of PRD at BUFT.
Industry representatives included HM Ashik Alahi, head of Daraz Express; Md Rajib Hossain, managing director of Rajib Engineering Limited; Mohammad Mainur Rahman Bhuiyan, chief financial officer of Evercare Hospitals Bangladesh; and Nahid Ashiquzzaman, head of supply chain and procurement at Dabur Bangladesh Private Limited.
Content creator and actor Rakin Absar also attended. BUFT deans and department heads participated in the opening and various sessions.
The expo offers students opportunities to connect with industry professionals, explore business ideas and gain practical insights into entrepreneurship, innovation and the growing role of AI in the future of work and enterprise.
The expo will continue tomorrow (8 October), with further activities focused on developing students’ creativity, entrepreneurial capabilities and digital readiness.
