The closing ceremony of “Nirobotay Kolorob 7.0”, presented by Pure Chemicals Limited, was held at Bangladesh University of Textiles in Dhaka on Thursday (30 April).

The event was organised by the Art and Photography Club of Bangladesh University of Textiles, Artex, and powered by Emmtex Solutions BD Limited.

The final day featured a prize-giving ceremony, a national-level art and photography exhibition, and cultural performances at Kolorob Prangon.

Centred on the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026, this year’s event featured large-scale wall graffiti, transforming the campus into a vibrant visual space. The day began with a flash mob performed by club members.

One of the major attractions of the event was “Ekphoria”, the National Art and Photography Exhibition, which drew participation from students of more than 40 universities across Bangladesh.

In the art competition, Tahsin Akter from BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology became champion, while Maisha Tahrin Sneha from the same university was named runner-up.

In the mobile and camera photography categories, the winners were Md Halim Ali, MM Mohtasim and Aditya Das.

In the live art segment, featuring tote bags and T-shirts, Anindita Kundu from BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology became champion, while Rubaiyet Jahan from Bangladesh University of Textiles secured the runner-up position.

A formal discussion was held in the afternoon at the university auditorium.

Pure Chemicals Limited Deputy General Manager of Sales and Marketing Md Abu Naser Mollik, IEB Textile Engineering Division Chairman Mohiuddin Ahmed Selim, IEB Textile Engineering Division Vice-Chairman Md Sayedur Rahman, ITET Bangladesh Member Secretary Md Enayet Hossain, Textile Engineers’ Forum President ATM Shamsuddin Khan, Emmtex Solutions BD Limited Managing Director Md Moydul Islam Moid, Nevodis BD General Manager Md Maniruzzaman, Bangladesh University of Textiles Director of Students’ Welfare Professor Dr Md Mashiur Rahman Khan, and Director of Planning and Development Professor Dr Shekh Mamun Kabir attended the event.

Speaking at the event, Mohiuddin Ahmed Selim emphasised the importance of students’ engagement in co-curricular activities, saying such platforms help develop leadership skills and analytical thinking.

He also encouraged clubs to document and showcase their activities through visual media to gain national recognition.

Md Enayet Hossain highlighted the importance of campus-based club activities in building strong relationships among students and fostering collaboration between students and faculty members.

Speaking on behalf of Artex, Sudipto Banik, a student of the 47th batch of the Textile Fashion and Design Department, said “Nirobotay Kolorob” continues its journey with the same vision – to create meaningful expression through silent dedication and bring energy, creativity and vibrancy to everyday student life.

After the prize-giving ceremony, the art and photography exhibition was held on the ground floor of the new academic building.

The programme concluded with cultural performances and a live band show.
