IAUP Semi-Annual Meeting 2026 Token

Marking a significant milestone in Bangladesh’s higher education sector, Daffodil International University (DIU) has been awarded the responsibility to host the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) Semi-Annual Meeting 2026.

The conference is scheduled to take place from 19 to 21 November in Bangladesh, making it the first time in IAUP’s history that the event will be held in South Asia.

The announcement was made during the closing session of the IAUP Semi-Annual Meeting 2026 held at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, Lithuania.

At the event, Chairman of Daffodil International University and Daffodil Group Dr Md Sabur Khan participated as a distinguished speaker and Treasurer-Elect of IAUP. As part of the formal transition, he received the symbolic conference crest, confirming Bangladesh as the next host country.

Describing the achievement as a proud moment for both the university and the country, Dr Khan said, “This conference brings together university leaders and academics from across the world. Hosting it in Bangladesh is a great honour for us and will further elevate the country’s higher education on the global stage.”

He added, “Such international platforms help position Bangladesh as an emerging hub for education, innovation and academic leadership.”

The International Association of University Presidents is a global organisation representing university leaders, working to strengthen international collaboration in higher education, promote leadership development and foster institutional partnerships.

Hosting the conference is expected to position Bangladesh as an important centre for global academic dialogue while further strengthening the international standing of Daffodil International University.
