Preparations have officially begun for the Silver Jubilee celebration of Dhaka University Alumni 99-00, the platform representing alumni of Dhaka University’s 1999-2000 academic session. Ahead of the celebration, scheduled for 25 December, a preparatory meeting was recently held between Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr A B M Obaidul Islam and the executive committee of the alumni association.

The meeting, held at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, marked the formal launch of the official website and registration process for the Silver Jubilee celebration. The event was attended by representatives of the alumni association, led by Zakir Hossain, president, and Habib, general secretary, of the executive committee of Dhaka University Alumni 99-00.

Speaking at the meeting, Professor Dr A B M Obaidul Islam praised the initiative taken by the alumni of the 1999-2000 session and wished the organisers success. He expressed hope that the Silver Jubilee celebration would strengthen ties among former students and encourage them to contribute more actively to the university’s development.

The executive committee announced that the Silver Jubilee celebration will be formally inaugurated on 25 December with a colourful programme. Alumni of the 1999-2000 academic session, both in Bangladesh and abroad, have been encouraged to complete their registration through the official website. The committee said it is committed to organising a memorable and well-coordinated celebration.
