The Dhaka University Debating Society (DUDS) organised the “DUDS Debate Workshop 2026: Pathway to Podium” on 16 May at the Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium, exclusively for the 2024–25 DUDS cohort.

The day-long workshop featured seven interactive sessions aimed at enhancing participants’ debating, critical thinking, and public speaking skills.

The programme opened with a session titled “Why Debating?” conducted by Manzur Al Matin. This was followed by “The Psychology of Influence,” led by M. Sadman Sadik, where participants explored strategies of persuasion and communication in debate.

Arju Afrin Kathy then conducted a session on “Argumentation & Basics,” focusing on the fundamentals of constructing arguments, while Momen Tazwoar Momit led a session on “Rebuttals,” discussing effective techniques for responding during debates.

As part of the workshop activities, participants also attended an engaging show debate.

The later part of the programme included “Thinking Religion & Philosophy” by M Abdul Aziz, PhD, followed by “Storytelling: Mastering Barowari” conducted by Zehad Al Mehedi.

The organisers expressed gratitude to the speakers, volunteers, and participants for contributing to what they described as an insightful, interactive, and memorable workshop.
