Entrepreneurship training for JUST students concludes in Jashore
The Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation and Jashore University of Science and Technology have concluded a five-day training programme on entrepreneurship development.
The programme was jointly organised by the BSCIC Training Institute, the training wing of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation, and the Faculty of Business Studies of Jashore University of Science and Technology.
The closing ceremony was held today (24 June) at room 106 of the Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Academic Building of the university.
Dr Mohammad Kamal Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, attended the closing ceremony as chief guest.
The session was presided over by Md Tanzim Hossain, Associate Faculty Member of the BSCIC Training Institute and Course Director of the training programme.
Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman of the Department of Marketing and Md Belal Hossain, Lecturer of the same department, were also present.
The training programme was coordinated by Miftahul Jannat Ripa, Assistant Faculty Member of the BSCIC Training Institute, and Md Rafiqul Islam.
Held from 20 to 24 June, the training covered business plan development, entrepreneurship management, marketing strategies, financial management, leadership development, and practical and technical aspects of becoming an entrepreneur.
One of the key parts of the closing ceremony was the presentation of business ideas by the participants.
The trainees were divided into three groups and presented their business concepts before the guests. Following evaluation, one business idea was selected as the winner.
Speaking at the event, the guests emphasised the importance of such training initiatives in developing entrepreneurial mindsets among university students, creating employment opportunities and promoting self-employment.
They said developing educated youth into successful entrepreneurs could contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth and industrial development.
The joint initiative of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation and Jashore University of Science and Technology aims to nurture future entrepreneurs, encourage innovative thinking among students and support the creation of sustainable employment opportunities.
