University of Dhaka Accounting Forum (UDAF) hosts Prodigies 6.0

University of Dhaka Accounting Forum (UDAF) recently hosted the ‘Prodigies 6.0: Crafting Solutions, Forging Leaders’ business case competition.
The grand finale and prize-giving ceremony took place on Saturday (26 July) at the Professor Dr Abdullah Faruk Multipurpose Conference Hall at the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), University of Dhaka.
A total of 41 teams took part in the competition, of which 8 teams made it to the final round. These were Prometheus, Team Goku, Cash Floyd, Dead Capitalist Society, Core Collective, The Think Tank, Team Mopo, and Thinsync.
Each team presented unique perspectives and analytical insights through their presentations. Cash Floyd claimed the championship title, Team Goku was named first runner-up, and Dead Capitalist Society secured the second runner-up position.
The event was sponsored by Bashundhara Exercise Book and co-sponsored by Knit Valley Fashions Ltd. The learning partner was Lead Academy. The competition was open to students from all departments under the Faculty of Business Studies, allowing for greater participation and diversity.

The Chief Guest, Professor Md Maksudur Rahman Sarker, FCMA, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Accounting, along with Honourable Guest Professor Amirus Salat of the Department of Accounting, Guest of Honour Mohammad Alauddin, General Manager, Marketing, Safwan Bashundhara Global, Special Guest Mohammad Enamul Haque, Managing Director, Knit Valley Fashions Limited, and prestigious guests Sayd Zulker Nine, Senior Executive, Marketing, Bashundhara Paper Mills, and Ahmed Yousuf Abbas, President of the Accounting Alumni Association, attended the event.
Organisers stated that the competition provided a unique platform to combine theoretical learning with practical business cases. The expanded scale of the event enriched the participants’ learning experience and showcased innovative thinking, strategic planning, and inter-departmental collaboration.
Judges praised the teams for their strong analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and confident delivery. Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering leadership among students. The sponsoring companies also commended the students’ energy and talent and expressed interest in supporting future events.
Professor Amirus Salat remarked that the aim of the competition is to equip students with the skills needed to thrive in the corporate world. He said it would strengthen their CVs and play a vital role in pursuing higher education abroad. According to him, Prodigies is not just a competition but a bold step towards shaping future leaders.
He added that UDAF is committed to building a generation that goes beyond textbooks, embracing courage, critical thinking, and leadership. One of the highlights of the programme was the unveiling of The Accounting Bulletin, a quarterly publication of the Department of Accounting, University of Dhaka. The Accounting Bulletin was officially launched by Professor Md Maksudur Rahman Sarker, FCMA, during the event. The chairman praised the students who worked hard for The Accounting Bulletin.
Prodigies 6.0 stood out as an inspiring platform that brought knowledge, innovation, and leadership together under one roof.
