The Department of Television, Film and Photography at the University of Dhaka hosted a guest lecture titled ‘From Story to Stream: The Economics of Content in OTT Platforms’.
The session was conducted by Mushfiqur Rahman, Chief Content Officer at Bongo, who provided an in-depth look at the economic dynamics shaping contemporary streaming platforms.
Moving beyond surface-level discussions, Rahman explained how OTT platforms create value through commissioning strategies, data-driven decision-making and platform-specific distribution models. He also addressed key issues such as content selection, monetisation and ownership within the digital streaming ecosystem.
