Hult Prize juniors sparks young innovation at University of Chittagong

The Hult Prize Juniors event was successfully held on 8 February at the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries Auditorium of the University of Chittagong, bringing together young innovators to celebrate creativity, leadership, and social entrepreneurship.

Organised by Hult Prize at University of Chittagong, the event created a vibrant platform for school and early-stage student entrepreneurs to present innovative ideas addressing real-world challenges. The programme highlighted the growing importance of nurturing leadership and problem-solving skills from an early age.

The event was honoured by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Md Abdur Rashid Sohag, Founder, CEO and Chairman of Pupil School Bus Ltd; Sarfuddin, Senior Area Manager of Robi Axiata Ltd; Md Mufidur Rahman, Lecturer of the Department of Banking and Insurance at the University of Chittagong; and Mohammad Shahab Uddin, Advisor to Hult Prize at University of Chittagong, Professor in the Department of Management, and Director of the Office of International Relations at CU.

A special highlight of the programme was the keynote speech delivered by Nargis Fatema, who inspired the audience by sharing her journey beginning in elementary school. Her address reinforced the idea that impactful innovation can emerge at any age when curiosity and determination are nurtured.

This year, 20 teams from different institutions registered for the competition. Selected teams pitched their ideas before the judges, showcasing remarkable creativity, confidence, and youthful enthusiasm. Team EcoZircon emerged as the Champion, while Team Tom & Jerry secured the 1st Runner-Up position and Team Aqua Fiber became the 2nd Runner-Up.

The event was organised under the leadership of Khaled Mahmud Onik, Campus Director of Hult Prize at University of Chittagong for the 2025–26 tenure. Kazi Muhaiminul Islam Munaj served as Chief of Staff, while Karin Saffana took on the role of Chief Strategist. The successful execution of the programme was further supported by Nishat Tahsin Chowdhury Lamia and Tanjif Hasan, Heads of the Community Engagement Team, along with Shazia Rahman and Rahbar Karim, Heads of the Judges and Participants Management Team.

Through initiatives such as Hult Prize Juniors, the University of Chittagong continues to foster a culture of innovation and leadership among young learners, empowering them to think boldly, develop socially responsible solutions, and dream beyond limitations.
