Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) and East West University (EWU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on research and monitoring of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems across Bangladesh, including solar parks and rooftop solar installations.

The agreement was signed by IDCOL Managing Director Alamgir Morshed and EWU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shams Rahman on behalf of their respective organisations.

Under the partnership, IDCOL’s technical monitoring equipment and laboratory facilities will be combined with EWU’s academic research expertise to analyse data and evaluate the performance, efficiency and reliability of solar energy systems across the country.

The collaboration will also focus on capacity building through joint workshops and training programmes for students, researchers and industry professionals. The initiative aims to generate reliable data that will support informed investment and operational decisions in Bangladesh’s renewable energy sector.

By integrating industry infrastructure with academic research, IDCOL and EWU seek to enhance the long-term performance, sustainability and efficiency of solar energy projects, while strengthening research and human resource development in the country’s growing renewable energy sector.
