IFIC Bank awarded research grants to 50 University of Dhaka students and scholarships to 30 others to support academic research and meritorious students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.

The awards were presented today (28 September, 2026) at the conference hall of Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban at the university during the “IFIC Bank Trust Fund Research Grant and Scholarship Award Ceremony 2026,” according to the press release.

The recipients were students from the 2022–23 and 2023–24 academic sessions.

University of Dhaka Treasurer and IFIC Bank Trust Fund Chairman Professor M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury chaired the programme.

Present at the ceremony were IFIC Bank Deputy Managing Director and Chief Information Officer Md Monitur Rahman, Chief of Branch Business Helal Ahmed, and Head of Treasury Mohammad Shahin Uddin. The Dean, Professor Dr Saifuddin Md Tareeq, of the University of Dhaka Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and the Dean, Professor Al Amin, of the Faculty of Business Studies, also attended.

Senior officials from both institutions, faculty members, students and guardians were also present. University of Dhaka Acting Registrar Munsi Shams Uddin Ahmed conducted the programme.

Established in 2012, the IFIC Bank Trust Fund supports University of Dhaka students through research grants and scholarships. To date, more than 450 students from different faculties have benefited from the initiative.
