The Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) recently hosted a vibrant celebration for National Library Day 2026 under the inspiring motto, “Knowledge is freedom, the foundation of the future.”

The event began with an energetic morning rally and continued with a series of engaging sessions. A key highlight was a featured talk by Dr. Ashraful Islam, Director of CCDS, titled “From Search to Discovery: How AI Transforms Research,” exploring the intersection of technology and academia. Students also showcased their knowledge and enthusiasm in a POP Quiz Competition.

The celebration was graced by Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor M. Tamim and Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Daniel W. Lund, who emphasised the evolving role of libraries in the digital age. The day concluded with awards for competition winners and shared reflections, making it a memorable celebration of the power of information.
