IUBAT hosts EconPitch 2026 to promote student-led economic ideas
The IUBAT Economics Research Society (IERS) organised a five-minute presentation competition, “EconPitch 2026”, at the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) on 25 August.
Held at the university’s conference room, the competition featured two categories. Category A was open to students from the Department of Economics, while students from other departments competed in Category B. Participants presented ideas on a range of contemporary economic issues, including inflation, the green economy, the digital economy, health economics and agricultural economics.
Professor Dr Abdur Rab, vice-chancellor of IUBAT; Professor Dr Golam Rasul, chairman of the Department of Economics; Professor Dr Sajal Saha, director of Miyan Research Institute; and faculty members of the Department of Economics attended the event.
Following evaluation of the presentations, Team Nexus emerged as the winner of Category A, while Team Aurora secured first place in Category B. All participants received certificates in recognition of their efforts and presentations.
The competition provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of economics, analytical abilities and problem-solving skills. It also encouraged participants to explore contemporary economic challenges and present practical ideas to address them.
