A roadshow of Orange Corners Bangladesh was held at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on Monday (7 September), aiming to support young entrepreneurs and pave the way for entrepreneurship in Mymensingh. The event was organised at the Syed Nazrul Islam Conference Hall with the support of the BAU Career Club (BAUCC) and the Three Zero Club.

BAU Student Affairs Adviser Prof. Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Sarder attended the event as the chief guest.

A discussion titled “Strengthening the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Mymensingh” was also held as part of the event. Associate Professor Dr. Dilshad Zahan Ethen, head of the Department of Agribusiness and Marketing; Zikrul Hakim, managing director of Safe Food; and Mustafizur Rahman, programme director of YY Ventures, spoke at the discussion.

The speakers highlighted various opportunities for young entrepreneurs, particularly in agriculture and agribusiness.
Prof. Dr. Dilshad Zahan Ethen said BAU provides a strong platform for young entrepreneurs as it brings together resources and opportunities. “BAU has talented young students as well as experienced academics. As a technical university, it also has connections with different industry and farm-level stakeholders. This creates opportunities to turn academic knowledge directly into hands-on experience,” she said.

Speaking as the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Sarder said programmes like this help young people develop their skills and receive training needed to build successful careers. He noted that the demand for modern skills in today’s competitive job market is gaining ground rapidly. “Therefore, it is important for us to change our way of thinking and broaden our horizons,” he said.
