Rajshahi University hosted the grand finale of the Hult Prize 2025–26 campus round on Wednesday, 4 February, highlighting its growing role in promoting student entrepreneurship and innovation.
Held at the university’s Senate Building, the event marked the ninth consecutive year that Rajshahi University has organised the globally recognised competition, often referred to as the “Nobel Prize for Students”.
The Hult Prize challenges university students to develop sustainable business ideas addressing pressing social issues.
Following record participation from 760 teams and a competitive final round, Team SIPSAFE emerged as the campus champion, earning the opportunity to advance to the next stages of the international competition. Team Bunon Bazar secured the first runner-up position, while Team The Conquerors finished as second runner-up.
Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of the Hult Prize beyond competition, noting its role in fostering leadership, critical thinking, and social responsibility among students. They also emphasised that such global platforms provide Bangladeshi students with exposure to international standards of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The finale was attended by Professor Dr Md Amirul Islam, Student Advisor at Rajshahi University; Salauddin Ammar, General Secretary of the Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union; and Tofail Tofa, Science and Technology Secretary, along with faculty members, student participants, and guests from various departments.
This year’s campus round was supported by partners including Khan Teheri Ghar, VRC Study Abroad, REMARK, Global Heights, and Valvoline, whose contributions supported the successful execution of the event.
Organised globally in collaboration with the United Nations, the Hult Prize is a student-centred social entrepreneurship competition encouraging young people to create ventures with measurable social impact. Rajshahi University’s continued engagement with the initiative reflects a broader shift within Bangladesh’s public universities towards nurturing entrepreneurial ambition alongside academic excellence.
