Stamford University Bangladesh has launched its three-day Forum Week 2026, bringing together 17 student forums and clubs in an initiative aimed at encouraging student participation in co-curricular activities while fostering leadership, creativity and teamwork.

The event was inaugurated at noon on Sunday, 9 August, at the university auditorium premises.

Professor Dr Farahnaaz Feroz, Chairperson of the university’s Board of Trustees, attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest, while Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Sharif Nafe As-Saber was present as the special guest.

Among others, Professor Dr Mrityunjoy Acharjee, Proctor; Muhammad Abdul Matin, Registrar; Mohammad Motaher Hossain, Director of Finance; Prodeepto Mobarook, Head of Public Relations; and Tamanna Zerin, Student Welfare Adviser, attended the programme.

Chairpersons of different departments, conveners and members of various forums and clubs, along with a large number of students, also took part in the event.

Organised by the university’s Students’ Welfare Office (SWO), Forum Week is primarily aimed at recruiting new members for 17 forums and clubs operating under SWO. The programme will continue from 9 to 11 August, with activities taking place daily from 10am to 4pm.

The organisers said the initiative goes beyond membership recruitment and aims to develop students’ leadership qualities, creativity, communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Professor Farahnaaz Feroz highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities in students’ overall development. She said participation in social, cultural and organisational activities alongside academic studies plays an important role in strengthening students’ skills, confidence and personality.
