The Department of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), in collaboration with the ULAB Art & Photography Club, successfully organised a sustainable Alopona Workshop Using Dry Leaves on 23 April 2026 at 3:00 PM in front of the D Building on the ULAB campus.
The workshop aimed to promote environmental awareness through creative expression by using dry leaves and natural elements to design traditional Alopona art in an eco-friendly way. The initiative highlighted sustainability while reconnecting participants with cultural heritage through artistic practice.
The session was conducted by A F M Moniruzzaman Shipu, Assistant Professor, School of Social Science, who guided students in exploring innovative techniques of sustainable art-making using natural materials. Participants actively engaged in the hands-on workshop, creating vibrant designs while learning environmentally responsible artistic approaches.
The event was further enriched by the presence of Syeda Sadia Mehjabin, Senior Lecturer, School of Social Science, who encouraged students to integrate creativity with sustainability-driven initiatives.
The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from students and members of the university community, fostering collaboration, creativity, and environmental consciousness. Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting its value as both an educational and enjoyable experience.
