14 key instructions for SSC and equivalent exam candidates
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations are set to begin on Tuesday (21 April) and will continue until 20 May. The exams will start daily at 10:00 am, with Bangla as the first subject according to the published routine.
At the time of releasing the exam schedule, the authorities also issued 14 important instructions for candidates to follow throughout the examination period.
Key instructions for candidates:
- Candidates must take their seats in the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the exam begins.
- Examinations must be conducted according to the time mentioned on the question paper.
- Multiple-choice questions (MCQ) will be followed by creative/descriptive (theoretical) questions, with no break in between.
- Admit cards must be collected from respective institution heads at least seven days before the start of the exams.
- For subjects such as Physical Education, Health Science and Sports, and Career Education, marks from continuous assessment will be provided by institutions to the relevant centres as per National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) guidelines. Centres will then upload these marks along with practical exam scores to the board’s website online.
- Candidates must correctly fill in their roll number, registration number and subject code on the OMR answer sheet. Folding of answer sheets is strictly prohibited.
- Candidates must pass separately in the creative/descriptive, MCQ, and practical components.
- Candidates are only allowed to appear in subjects listed in their registration; participation in any other subject is not permitted.
- Distribution of admit cards must be ensured at least seven days before the exams. Institution heads will be held responsible for any complications.
- Candidates may use calculators approved by the education board.
- No mobile phones are allowed in the examination centre except for the centre secretary; no candidate is permitted to bring or use one.
- The same attendance sheet will be used for all sections of the exam, including MCQ, creative/descriptive, and practical parts.
- Practical examinations will be held at respective centres.
- Candidates may apply online for re-scrutiny of results within seven days of publication. Details regarding the application process, dates and timings will be announced through newspapers and education board websites.
