BUET admission test: Written test on 13 Feb, admit cards open to download

The written test for the 2024-25 academic session would take place on 13 February. The university announced this through a notice on its admission website, where applicants can now access and download their admit cards.


According to the notice, candidates must select their departmental options online before downloading the admit card.
Earlier, on 3 February, BUET published the results of the preliminary admission test, which was conducted in three shifts. A total of 7,552 candidates qualified for the final exam—2,520 in the first shift, 2,512 in the second, and 2,520 in the third.


The preliminary test had 24,211 participants, including 17,339 male and 6,872 female candidates. The final admission test is scheduled for 13 February.
Available seats and reserved quotas


BUET will admit students into 13 departments under the faculties of:
• Chemical and Materials Engineering
• Civil Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Architecture and Planning


This year, a total of 1,309 seats are available, including reserved seats for ethnic minority students from the Chittagong Hill Tracts and other regions—three in the engineering and urban planning departments and one in the architecture department.


Final exam schedule
The final admission test will be held on Thursday, 13 February 2025, in two modules:
• Module A (Group A & B) – Higher Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
• Module B (Group B) – Freehand Drawing and Visual-Spatial Intelligence
Time: 2:00pm – 3:30pm


Mark Distribution
• Group A (Engineering & Urban Planning): 400 marks
• Group B (Architecture): 800 marks (including Freehand Drawing and Visual-Spatial Intelligence)
The exam syllabus will be based on the restructured Higher Secondary curriculum of 2024. The drawing and visual-spatial intelligence test for Group B will be open-ended
