A 40-minute short film ‘Room Number 2011’, directed by Sheikh Jisan Ahmed and based on the true story of the brutal murder of Buet’s student Abrar Fahad, is available on YouTube from today (12 February).
‘Room Number 2011’ can be streamed on the YouTube channel, AKTIFUL.
The short film has already been screened in the United States. In Bangladesh, it has been shown in several cinema halls, including Monihar in Jashore, as well as on multiple university campuses, including Jahangirnagar University.
On 7 October 2019, Abrar Fahad, a student at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), was beaten to death at Sher-e-Bangla Hall. Following the tragic incident, Abrar became a symbol of protest against student politics’ brutality. The film is centred around this harrowing event.
Regarding the project, Director Jisan stated, “Audiences expect originality from us. With that in mind, we have created Room Number 2011. I hope it captivates the viewers.”
