Two new books exploring the Harry Potter universe, featuring Hogwarts professor Minerva McGonagall and mischievous twins Fred and George Weasley, are set to be released in February 2027 by Bloomsbury Publishing.

The books will join the publisher’s Pocket Potters collection, which introduces young readers to characters, memorable moments and stories from the Wizarding World through illustrations, quotations and facts.

Pocket Potters: Fred and George, illustrated by Helen Brady, will explore the twins’ adventures at Hogwarts, their pranks and inventions, and the creation of their joke shop, Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, in Diagon Alley.

The book will also cover their decision to leave Hogwarts and pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions, highlighting some of their best-known magical products, including Puking Pastilles and Extendable Ears.

The second title, Pocket Potters: McGonagall, illustrated by Natalie Smillie, will focus on Professor McGonagall’s life and role at Hogwarts.

It will explore her position as head of Gryffindor House, her ability to transform into a tabby cat, her Transfiguration lessons and her relationships with Harry Potter and other Hogwarts professors. The book will also highlight her loyalty to the school and her dry sense of humour.

The two releases will expand the existing Pocket Potters collection, which features titles dedicated to Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Professor Albus Dumbledore and Luna Lovegood.

The announcement comes ahead of the upcoming Harry Potter television adaptation, scheduled to premiere on HBO and HBO Max on 25 December 2026.
