JU Quiz Society welcomes 55th batch with 'Knowledge Fest 55'
Jahangirnagar University Quiz Society (JUQS) organised ‘Knowledge Fest 55’ to welcome freshers of the university’s 55th batch for the 2025-26 academic session.
At the event, the top 10 participants in the Knowledge Fest quiz competition received crests and certificates. Other students won general knowledge books and world maps through an instant quiz. Participants also attended a Campus to Career session conducted by Sabbir Sarker, founder of EnglishA2Z.
Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Yasin Ferdous Murad attended the event as the chief guest. He said JUQS had consistently worked to encourage students to engage in knowledge-based activities, adding that such initiatives inspired them to pursue learning beyond their academic studies.
He also pledged his continued support for the organisation and said the Dhaka Zila Parishad would assist freshers with their educational needs.
The organisation’s faculty adviser, Dr Mohammad Jahangir Alam, said initiatives such as the event played a significant role in engaging freshers in knowledge-based activities. He expressed hope that the society would continue its efforts in the future.
JUQS President Asif Mahmud said the organisation had been working since its inception to encourage students to pursue knowledge-based activities alongside their academic studies.
“The primary goal of our event is to build a conducive environment for learning,” he said, expressing hope that students would continue participating in such activities.
The event provided an opportunity for freshers to build connections, develop a spirit of learning and take an interest in co-curricular activities. A large number of students attended and participated in the programme.
