Data Analyst | United Nations World Food Programme (WFP)

Responsibilities & Context

Under the overall guidance and technical supervision of the RAM Unit, the Data Analyst will report to the Programme Policy Officer (Operational Data Analyst), and will be responsible in collecting, processing, analyzing data and reports, received from the partners under USDA McGovern-Dole FY24 award for School feeding Programme to help Country Office Management, Programme Unit and Sylhet Field Office make informed decisions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive)

  • Ensure that distribution reports are submitted from the field in alignment with the Cooperating Partners Distribution Report (CPDR) guidelines.
  • Analyze distribution and output data to identify trends in consumption, pricing, and the number of beneficiaries reached, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly report format/ tools for partner NGOs to submit WFP.
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly report, submitted by partner NGO related to the literacy activities, inform Programme team about updates, and suggest action, if needed.
  • Analyze monthly report and quarterly report related to the smallholder farmer production capacity and market access and school vegetable garden activities.
  • Generate comprehensive monthly reports based on data analysis and findings to inform decision-making and programme adjustments.
  • Assist cooperating partners (CPs) in improving and systematizing planning processes by leveraging insights from previous months’ data.
  • Design and implement real-time dashboards to present insights to the Programme team, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and validations of distribution reports to ensure data quality and adherence to reporting standards.
  • Provide training to NGO staffs and schoolteachers on ‘School Connect’ to better track attendance in schools, students’ daily meal consumption, food inventory for better planning.
  • Provide training and guidance to cooperating partners to enhance their data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
  • Work closely with the Programme team to align reporting and analytical outputs with programme objectives and strategy.
  • Follow set emergency response processes and procedures for emergency food assistance if needed.
  • Perform other tasks as required, agreed by Supervisor and Programme team at CO.

Type of contract: Fixed Term

Duration: 12 months

Requirements

Education: Completion of University Degree (Bachelors) in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or any relevant subject.

Experience
  • At least 6 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Development Agency
Additional Requirements
  • Experience: At least 6 years of solid & responsible work experience in Data management, analysis and visualization or any related experience.
  • Language: Fluency in spoken and written both in English and Bangla language.
