The International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) is one of the leading research and capacity-building organisations working on climate change and development in Bangladesh. Our mission is to gain and distribute knowledge on climate change, specifically on adaptation and loss and damage, thereby helping people tackle climate change with a focus on the Global South.

About project:

In response to research and development activity gaps in Bangladesh, this project aims to research the development of processes required for locally-led learning and adaptation that (i) enable farming communities in the polders of coastal Bangladesh to systematically choose their agricultural adaptation choices and associated system level implications to respond to climate change challenges, considering the spatial variation and temporal dynamics, (ii) that can be institutionalized within farmer groups, securing financial and human social capital to be self-sustaining in the long term, and (iii) that can influence and are supported by multi-stakeholder learning and governance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in field visits for data collection and data analysis
  • Assist in conducting literature reviews.
  • Compile and analyse research findings; Assisting in documentation (writing reports and presentations) on research findings.  
  • Participate in training sessions or workshops.
  • Assist in organizing and conducting workshops or field days.
  • Create educational materials such as brochures or fact sheets on relevant topics.
  • Assist in conducting surveys or interviews to gather feedback from stakeholders.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program in the field of agricultural science, forestry, natural resources management, environmental science or environmental management
  • Basic understanding of relevant topics
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and strong written English is required.

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Work hours: Full-time (40 hours/ week)
