Position: Senior Manager, Underwriting, Wholesale Banking

BRAC Bank seeks an ambitious, intelligent, purpose-driven, and enthusiastic individual for the following position in its Risk Management Division:

Senior Manager, Underwriting, Wholesale Banking

Grade: AVP- VP

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and assess credit proposals including the clients, transactions, purpose, client’s requirement, repayment capacity, financial analysis and overall credit structuring of the client as per Banks’ lending guidelines and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and guidelines as well as external regulatory requirements during approval process
  • Appraise credit proposal for onward submission to Credit Committee and to the appropriate delegated authority including the Board of Directors and Senior Management for necessary approval (/disposal)
  • Ensure timely submission of proposal as detailed in Service Level Agreement (SLA) for disposal
  • Monitor the quality of assigned credit portfolio with regular monitoring on repayment behavior, account performance, overdue trend & history, sales/ export routing and classification status to ensure that the portfolio is thoroughly, and conservatively valued and probable losses are adequately provided for
  • Conduct stress testing, analyze impact and create plan of action for portfolio when there is significant economic or industry sector downturns, adverse market-risk events, or unfavorable liquidity conditions
  • Visit customers to assess overall operational status
  • Correspondence with Bangladesh Bank related to credit issues as and when required
  • Assist line manager in preparation of reports and presentations as may be deemed necessary from time to time.

Requirements

Education: Masters (Post Graduation/Graduation from a UGC-approved university with a satisfactory academic track record)

Experience

  • At least 5 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Banks

Additional Requirements

  • For AVP – SAVP 5 to 10 years and for VP, 10 to 15 years of working experience preferably in Corporate Credit or Corporate Business
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good negotiation skills with different stakeholders
  • Expert in customer centricity, ownership & delivering results, integrity, collaboration and developing others
