The Institute of Modern Languages (IML) at the University of Dhaka is accepting applications for its one-year Elementary Certificate Course in 12 foreign languages.

The languages offered are Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.

The courses aim to develop learners’ language skills, including grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, while introducing them to the cultures, lifestyles and customs of the respective language communities.

The programme is open to interested learners and may help students and job seekers expand their career opportunities, strengthen cross-cultural communication skills and prepare for international travel and engagement.

The institute also offers opportunities for foreigners to learn Bangla, helping them gain a better understanding of Bangladesh’s language and culture.

Interested applicants can submit their forms online through the institute’s registration portal or complete the registration process offline at the Janata Bank branch at the university’s Teacher-Student Centre (TSC).

Applicants are required to submit a photograph, signature and scanned copies of their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) certificates or marksheets.

For registration and further information, applicants can visit the IML online registration portal or contact Room 125 of the Institute of Modern Languages.
