The Department of Oceanography under the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Dhaka has officially announced the admission notice for Batch 01 (July–December 2026) of the Professional Master’s in Blue Economy and Delta Management (PMBEDM) programme.

Key Features of the Programme

  • Degree Awarded: Professional Master’s in Blue Economy and Delta Management (PMBEDM)
  • Duration: 1.5 years (18 months), spanning across three semesters
  • Total Credits: 40 credits
  • Class Schedule: Weekends only (Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm)
  • Learning Environment: Fully furnished air-conditioned classrooms equipped with multimedia, Wi-Fi facilities, and access to the latest books and journals.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must fulfil the following criteria:

  • SSC & HSC: Minimum Second Division or a GPA of 2.50 out of 5.00 in both examinations.
  • Graduation:
    • A Second Class or CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 in a 4-year Bachelor (Honours) degree; OR
    • A Second Class in a 3-year Bachelor degree alongside a 1-year Master degree; OR
    • A Second Class in a 2-year Bachelor (Pass) degree paired with a 2-year Master degree; OR
    • A Second Class in a 2-year Bachelor (Pass) degree coupled with 2 years of relevant professional job experience.
  • Target Audience: Professionals currently working in GOs, NGOs, international organisations, media, donor agencies, the Armed Forces (Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, etc.), or individuals with experiences in oceanography, environment, disaster management, and development work are highly encouraged to apply.

Admission Test Details

  • Format: A 1-hour admission test consisting of both MCQ and written sections.
  • Syllabus Focus: Ocean and Oceanography-related subjects, with priority given to the Bay of Bengal.

  • Offline: Accessible directly from the Department Office between 9:30 am and 4:00 pm on working days (Sunday to Thursday).

The completed application form must be submitted directly to the department office along with 3 attested passport-size photographs and attested copies of all academic certificates and mark sheets.
