Types of scholarships at Humber College:
1. International entrance scholarships
- New students beginning their Diploma or Advanced Diploma studies may be eligible.
- Offers a CAD 2,000 reduction in tuition fees, distributed as CAD 1,000 per semester over the first two semesters.
- Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, calculated from high school transcripts submitted during admission.
- No separate application is required—eligible students are automatically considered.
- Scholarship awards are limited:
- 20 scholarships available for the September intake
- 15 for the January intake
- 5 for the May intake
- Each recipient must come from a different country per intake.
- The amount is credited to the student’s MyHumber account after the 10th day of classes.
- Only successful recipients will be notified after the 10th day of their first semester.
2. Bachelor’s degree scholarships
- Available to high school graduates enrolling in a Bachelor’s degree programme at Humber College.
- Awards are based on academic excellence and are automatically granted to eligible students.
- Scholarship amounts vary:
- CAD 4,000 for students with a GPA of 95% or higher (renewable)
- CAD 3,500 for students with a GPA between 90% – 94.9% (renewable)
- CAD 3,000 for students with a GPA between 85% – 89.9% (renewable)
- CAD 2,000 for students with a GPA between 80% – 84.9% (renewable)
- CAD 1,500 for students with a GPA between 75% – 79.9% (one-time only)
- Renewable scholarships require students to maintain an 80% GPA each academic year.
- These scholarships are unlimited in quantity.
3. Bachelor’s degree scholarships for EAP graduates
- Students who have completed Level 8 of Humber’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programme with an 80% GPA or higher can receive a one-time, non-renewable scholarship of CAD 1,500.
4. Awards for EAP graduates
- Graduates of Humber’s EAP Certificate Programme (Level 8) may receive awards based on:
- Academic performance (GPA)
- Improvement in English language proficiency
- Contributions to Humber’s diverse community
- No application is required—faculty nominate students, and recipients are notified in November.
5. LanguageCert university and college pathways scholarship
- International students enrolled in an English pathway programme at Humber College with conditional acceptance into a Canadian degree or diploma programme may apply for a CAD 1,000 scholarship.
6. Barbados Canada Foundation (BCF) scholarships
- Supports students of Barbadian heritage pursuing post-secondary education in Canada.
- Each scholarship is worth CAD 4,000 per year.
