The Fulbright Scholarship Programme for Postgraduate and Phd Candidates (USA)

Application Timeline: Spring of 2025 (Early April to Mid October)
The Fulbright Programme offers scholarships for Master’s and PhD studies, as well as Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) positions, in the United States. They encourage applications from everyone, especially those with disabilities. The programme is managed by the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka. This is a great opportunity to study or teach in the USA with financial support and cultural exchange. The Fulbright programme provides J-1 visa sponsorship, a health benefit plan, and enrichment activities. It’s important to note that you must apply from Bangladesh and cannot hold U.S. citizenship.
- Application Requirements
- Must reside in Bangladesh at the time of application.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a good academic record by the programme start date.
- Must not hold U.S. citizenship (dual citizens are ineligible).

- Language Criteria
- Must be fluent in English, demonstrated by:
- TOEFL (Paper-based): 550 or higher.
- TOEFL (Internet-based – iBT): 79-80 or higher.
- IELTS (Overall Score): 6.5 or higher.
