About the scholarship

The University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship established in 2016 to attract high-caliber international students to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies (excluding Business Masters in specific programmes) at the University of Auckland.  The scholarship offers financial aid of up to $10,000 towards tuition fees, helping ease the financial burden for deserving international students.

Selection process

Applications are competitive, and selection is based on a combination of factors:

  • Quality of application letter: A well-written and compelling application letter outlining your academic goals, interests, and suitability for the programme is crucial.
  • Referee endorsement: A strong endorsement from a referee familiar with your academic abilities can significantly enhance your application.
  • Programme alignment: The selection committee may consider how your chosen programme aligns with the university’s strategic goals.
