46th BCS written exam postponed amid PSC reform protests

The 46th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) written examination, scheduled for 8 May, has been postponed, Youth Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain announced on Sunday night amid ongoing protests demanding Public Service Commission (PSC) reforms.
Speaking at Dhaka University’s Raju Memorial Sculpture around 9:45pm, Asif stated that a high-level committee led by Fouzul Kabir Khan would be formed to discuss the protesters’ eight-point demand list.
Following the announcement, demonstrators called off their hunger strike and blockade, bdnews24.com reported.
Asif further revealed that the government plans to establish a second PSC and ensure a more transparent and neutral recruitment process in the future.
The protest began with three students from Dhaka University and BUET, later joined by a student from Rajshahi University and several job seekers.
The movement included marches and a Shahbagh blockade demanding comprehensive reforms.
