The 48th special BCS exam will carry a total of 300 marks, according to a new directive issued yesterday (27 May) by the Ministry of Public Administration.

Of the total, multiple-choice question (MCQ)-based questions will account for 200 marks, while the viva voce will be worth 100 marks.

The ministry revised existing rules to finalise the exam structure, which will feature a two-hour written test. The MCQ section will include 20 marks each on Bangla, English, Bangladesh affairs, and international affairs, along with 10 marks each on mental ability and mathematical reasoning. The remaining 100 marks will be drawn from subjects relevant to the specific cadre and position.

Each MCQ will carry one mark, while 0.50 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has already begun preparations for the 48th special BCS. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether the recruitment will be made under the health or education cadre.
