Sumaiya Khan, a 24-year-old from Bangladesh, has set a Guinness World Record by eating 37 grains of rice with chopsticks in one minute. The previous record stood at just 10 grains.
The rules were strict—only one grain of rice could be picked up at a time, and any attempt to lift more would disqualify the effort.
Sumaiya, an avid fan of ramen and Korean culture, developed her chopstick skills over the years, even using them to eat rice daily. A colleague, confident in her abilities, encouraged her to aim for the record, and she delivered.
Her record-breaking attempt has already attracted over 178,000 views on the Guinness World Records’ Facebook page as of 22 December.
Could you beat her record?
