The Ministry of Education has released the annual holiday calendar for government and private colleges for 2025, confirming a total of 71 holidays. Among these, there will be a long holiday of 25 consecutive days from 2 March to 3 April, encompassing Ramadan, Independence Day, Jumu’atul Wida, Eid-ul-Fitr, and the summer vacation.
Additionally, colleges will observe a 14-day winter vacation from 14 to 31 December. Holidays for Fatihah-i-Yazdahm, Durga Puja, and Vijayadashami will span 10 days from 28 September to 9 October. Meanwhile, the Eid-ul-Adha holidays will run for 8 days, from 3 to 12 June.
In comparison, secondary schools will have 76 holidays, primary schools 78, and madrasas 75 days off in 2025.
