The government has formed a review committee to assess whether the existing 7% quota in public sector jobs will remain in place. The committee has been instructed to submit its report within 30 working days, according to a notice issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday.
The committee, led by an Additional Secretary from the Rules Division of the Ministry of Public Administration, includes joint secretaries from various ministries and government bodies. It will examine the implementation of quotas for freedom fighters’ children (5%), ethnic minorities (1%), and persons with disabilities and third-gender individuals (1%). The committee may co-opt additional members if needed and will submit its findings to the government within the stipulated timeframe.
