Jagannath University starts first-year admissions today; what students need to do

Jagannath University has officially launched the first-phase admission process for the 2024-25 academic session in undergraduate (Honours) and BBA programmes. Students selected for Units A, B, C, D, and E must pay their admission fees from 12 PM today via the university’s admission portal.

According to an announcement signed by Acting Registrar Professor Md. Sheikh Gias Uddin, students must complete the online fee payment by 11:59 PM on 5 May. After paying the fees, students must submit the required documents at the relevant Dean’s office between 9 AM and 4 PM from 28 April to 6 May 2025 to confirm their admission.

Admission fees

  • For departments under the Faculty of Science and Life & Earth Sciences (including practical class fees): Tk12,430
  • For departments under the Faculty of Business Studies: Tk10,430
  • For departments under the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, and Law (excluding Film & Television, Music, and Drama departments): Tk10,430
  • For Film & Television, Music, and Drama departments (including practical class fees): Tk12,430
  • For departments under the Faculty of Fine Arts (including practical class fees): Tk12,430

Required documents
Students must submit the following documents at the relevant Dean’s office:

  • Original SSC and HSC mark sheets
  • Signed admit card from the invigilator
  • Printed admission form from the online portal
  • Two recent passport-sized colour photographs

The subject selection process for first-year admission took place from 8 to 17 April 2025. The total number of available seats at Jagannath University is 2,815.

Seat Distribution by unit

  • Unit A: 860 seats (284 in the first shift, 287 in the second shift, 289 in the third shift)
  • Unit B: 785 seats (294 in the first shift, 292 in the second shift, 199 in the third shift)
  • Unit C: 520 seats (230 in the first shift, 290 in the second shift)
  • Unit D: 590 seats (294 in the first shift, 296 in the second shift)
  • Unit E: 60 seats for the Drawing & Painting, Printmaking, and Sculpture departments (20 seats each)
