The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education has introduced a major change in the police verification process for recruiting teachers in non-government educational institutions.

According to a new circular signed by Senior Secretary Siddiq Zobair, candidates who fail to submit the required police verification form will not be considered for appointment. No recruitment will be allowed without police clearance.

As per the circular, the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) will now directly send the verification forms of provisionally selected candidates to the Special Branch of the Police Headquarters. Candidates who do not submit the form will be excluded from recommendation for appointment. The order takes immediate effect.

Previously, the verification forms were routed through the Ministry of Education to the Security Services Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs. That process has now been discontinued.

Copies of the circular have been sent to the Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Home Affairs, Technical and Madrasa Education Division, Ministry of Law, National University, Islamic Arabic University, and other relevant bodies.

Meanwhile, officials at the Ministry of Education have said the new verification procedure was introduced to make the process faster and more efficient. Under the previous system, the multi-step forwarding of verification forms often caused significant delays. By connecting NTRCA directly with the police, authorities hope to reduce turnaround time and accelerate teacher recruitment.

Currently, applications are ongoing under the sixth public circular for the recruitment of 1,00,822 teachers in MPO-listed non-government secondary schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical and business management institutes under NTRCA.

The circular on police verification was issued on Wednesday, in the midst of the ongoing application process.
