Candidates who have been finally recommended in the Primary Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025 are staging a sit-in protest at Shahbagh, the capital, demanding the issuance of joining orders.

They gathered in front of the National Museum today (26 April), starting their scheduled programme at 10:30am. As of 1:20pm, they were still continuing their protest.

The protesters carried placards with messages such as “We do not accept delays in teacher recruitment”, “We will go home only after receiving appointment letters”, and “We will not bear the burden of delay, we will not return without appointment”.

Md Al Amin from Sirajganj, who joined the protest, said they had passed the viva examination and completed health checks and were recommended, but the authorities were delaying issuing appointment letters.

He added that they would accept joining even one or two months later, but a written timeframe should be provided.

Earlier, written examinations were held on 9 January across 61 districts excluding three hill districts. A total of 69,265 candidates passed the written test and were selected for the viva. The final result was published on 8 February, selecting 14,384 candidates.

After the result, candidates submitted health certificates and dope test reports, but even after two and a half months, they have not received appointment letters.
