Private medical college admissions: 827 waitlisted candidates must confirm by 25 March

The Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) has announced that 827 students from the waiting list have been provisionally selected for admission into private medical colleges for the 2024-25 MBBS programme. These candidates must complete their second-round confirmation by Tuesday, 25 March, to secure their allocated seats.

Admission confirmation process

Following the initial admission list published on 17 March, several candidates did not confirm their seats within the deadline of 19 March, leaving vacancies. As a result, the DGME has selected 827 students from the waiting list and published the revised college-wise allocation. If a student fails to confirm their seat within the stipulated time, the allocation will be considered vacant. Furthermore, those who do not confirm in this round will not be considered for admission to any other private medical college later.

Students who have already confirmed their admission in the first round do not need to reconfirm.

How to confirm admission

To confirm admission, candidates must use a Teletalk prepaid mobile number and send an SMS in the following format:

  • Type MBBSNG [Space] User ID and send it to 16222.
    • Example: MBBSNG FRLGCT → Send to 16222
    • Here, “FRLGCT” represents the user ID provided in the admission form.

Upon sending the SMS, candidates will receive a reply containing a PIN, their name, and a confirmation fee deduction notice of Tk 100. To proceed, they must send another SMS following the format:

  • MBBSNG [Space] YES [Space] PIN → Send to 16222

Candidates must complete this process within the deadline to finalise their admission.
