Seven students of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) have been nominated for the Prime Minister Gold Medal for their outstanding academic performance, a university official said today.

The students were selected after authorities scrutinised applications submitted by universities across the country for the 2019-2021 academic sessions.

A total of 469 students from different universities have been nominated for the award, introduced by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The Ruet nominees are Sumaiya Tabassum, Miftahul Mobin Chowdhury, Mohiuddin Ahmed, Tamanna Sultana Swarna, Shahinur Alam, Md Mainul Islam and Zahid Hasan.

Ruet Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr S M Abdur Razzak congratulated the students on behalf of the university.
