Expatriates Shamit Shome and Fahamedul Islam have been included in Bangladesh’s 26-man preliminary Football squad for the upcoming home matches against Bhutan on 4 June and Singapore on 10 June, both of which are to be held at Dhaka’s newly renovated National Stadium, The Daily Star reports.

Shamit, who has previously played for Canada’s senior and youth teams, is expected to boost the midfield alongside Hamza Choudhury, who made his Bangladesh debut against India in March.

Fahamedul returns after being dropped from the final squad for that match, while Jahid Hasan Shanto, a defender from Premier League champions Mohammedan, has received his first national team call-up.
