A video of a student in distress outside the Mirpur Bangla College examination centre for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination that started yesterday (26 June) has gone viral on social media.

It was found that she was not allowed to sit for the Bangla first paper exam as she reached the examination centre 90 minutes late as her mother had suffered a stroke and she had to take her to the hospital.

The matter has since drawn attention from education authorities, reads a press release issued by the CA Press Wing today (27 June).
The release states Education Adviser CR Abrar as saying, “The matter is being taken seriously with humanitarian consideration. We are exploring the possibility of allowing the student to take the Bangla First Paper exam within the framework of public examination laws and regulations. We deeply sympathise with the student during this difficult time and urge them not to worry.”
