“All three colleges are on the path of peace. We will meet again soon,” he said.

Students of Dhaka College and Ideal College, who frequently face off in clashes, signed a peace agreement at a ceremony today (9 November).

Students of City College were also supposed to join the ceremony but were absent.

Regarding the matter, Dhaka City College Acting Principal Kazi Niyamul Haque told The Business Standard there was no specific reason for missing the event.

He said the college was busy with its own work.

“All three colleges are on the path of peace. We will meet again soon,” he said.

Imran Hossain Shanto, a second-year Marketing student of City College, said the recent clashes were between Dhaka College and Ideal College.

“That is their issue. Our conflict with Dhaka College was resolved earlier. We have no major disputes now, and any clashes only happen over minor issues,” he added.

The peace agreement was facilitated by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of New Market Police Station AKM Mahfuzul Haque, who organised a mediation session at the Dhaka College auditorium at about 11:45am to ease tensions between the three institutions that have long disrupted academic activities and caused public inconvenience in the area.
