YouTube has terminated two popular channels known for publishing misleading, AI-generated movie trailers after an investigation by Deadline exposed how such content was deceiving viewers and overshadowing official studio releases.

According to Yahoo Entertainment, the channels, KH Studios (based in the US) and Screen Culture (operating from India), had amassed millions of views by presenting fake trailers as exclusive previews of major films. Although they initially used labels such as “fan trailer” or “concept trailer,” these were later removed, prompting YouTube to shut them down.

The move has been welcomed by film fans, amid growing concern that increasingly realistic AI-generated videos are spreading misinformation and threatening creative jobs in the film industry. Critics, however, say stronger action is still needed as similar content continues to flood the platform.
