Hidden tourist spots of Northern Bangladesh

If I were to ask you to plan a trip within the country, where would you head for? Is it Cox’s Bazar or Sajek? Those are some of the first locations you are likely to think about.

But do you know with half the cost of it, you could visit places that are equally serene and beautiful?

No, I am not suggesting any foreign country. Then?  

Here are some of the most secretive spots of our countries in the northern part of Bangladesh:

i) Banglabandha Point, Tetulia Banglabandha 

Zero Point and Banglabandha Land Port are located in the Banglabandha under the Union of Tentulia Upazila. 

Built on 10 acres of land, this place serves as a common ground for Bangladesh with neighbouring countries. To visit this place, permission from the respective authority is mandatory. But the experience of visiting such an exceptional place is worth it.

ii) Dinajpur 

Dinajpur remains an unexplored destination for tourists in our country. This place might be a gem for those who are interested in ancient architecture. 

Dinajpur Rajbari, Nayabad Mosque, Deepshikha Anandalaya and Meti School are among the places on the list to visit. Dinajpur also has tourist centres like Ramsagar Dighi, Sukhsagar Ecopark, Swapnapuri Picnic Spot, and Lichubagan.  

iii) Kurigram

Kurigram district is an ancient city in the northwestern region of the Meghalaya state of India, bordering Ghensa and the Yamuna river basin. 

This district is popular for its tourist spots such as Naobhanga Zamindar House, Chandamari Mosque, Bhooraband Zamindar House, Ulipur Munsibari, Banga Sonahat Bridge.

 The real cold and chill of winter can be felt in this northern district of our country. 

iv) Nilphamari 

Nilphamari district is called the land of indigo. It is one of the border districts of eight districts of Rangpur division. At one time, the British forced the farmers here to cultivate indigo.  Every place in this district is a witness to history.  

Apart from learning about history, travellers can visit the Nile Sea, Dharmapala Garh, Teesta Barrage and Irrigation Project, Kundupukur Shrine, Hazrat Shah Kalandar Shrine, Harishchandra’s Path, Mainamati Fort, Bhima’s Mother’s Chula, China Mosque, Syedpur Church, Syedpur Railway Factory, Darwani Textile Mill, Uttara.  

EPZ, Syedpur Airport, Dimla Rajbari, Balapara Mass Grave etc.

v) Pabna

Pakshi Resort, Tarash Rajbari, Hardinge Bridge, and Pabna Taat Shilpo are some places people who love to travel need to visit immediately. 

These places would win your heart with their simplicity and authenticity. 

The diverse natural beauty of our country is what makes it unique. This diversification of the northern part of our country should be explored more by the travellers and tourists.
