Class XI students to receive Tk5,000 admission aid, application deadline extended by a week

To ensure college enrolment for students from underprivileged backgrounds, the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust has extended the application deadline for its admission support programme. Eligible Class XI students can now apply for financial assistance of Tk5,000 until 24 April 2025.

The initiative, launched to prevent financial hardship from becoming a barrier to higher secondary education, began accepting applications online on 5 March. The Trust has issued a circular requesting all upazila and thana-level secondary education officers to disseminate the information to relevant institutions.

According to the notice, applicants must submit their forms and required documents through the designated online platform by 11:59pm on 24 April.

The support will be provided to students enrolled in the 2024–25 academic year under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, the Directorate of Technical Education, and the Madrasa Education Board. Disbursements will follow the official ‘Admission Support Guidelines’ of the Trust.

Currently, the Trust provides admission assistance of Tk5,000 at the secondary level, Tk8,000 at the higher secondary level, and Tk10,000 at the undergraduate or equivalent level.

Eligibility criteria

Students are eligible if their parents or legal guardians are employed in government, semi-government, autonomous, or constitutional bodies under pay grades 13 to 20. For others, the annual family income must not exceed Tk2,00,000.

To apply, students must upload the following documents to the system:

  • A recent passport-sized photograph
