Google’s digital payment service, Google Pay, officially launches in Bangladesh today (24 June) in partnership with City Bank.

The service was inaugurated by Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur. It will allow City Bank’s Visa and Mastercard users to make contactless payments via NFC-enabled Android phones, reports Dhaka Tribune.

Google will not charge transaction fees, though banks may impose charges for international transactions.
